Configuring a ShorePhone IP230 telephone

Before you can use a phone with this system it must be manually configured with the necessary (and unique) network parameters. To do this you must enter the phones configuration menu.
You can enter the phone configuration menu at bootup or by entering a key sequence from the phone’s keypad.
To Manually configure the phone at bootup:
  1. Connect the Ethernet cable into the data jack on the back of the IP phone or BB24 device.
  2. At the Password prompt, enter the default password 1234, or the password provided by your system administrator, followed by the # key. You have four seconds to enter the password, after which the phone enters normal operation with its current settings.
  3. Enter the values listed in the Table below when prompted. Press # to advance to the next settings or * to exit (when entering IP addresses, press <speaker> to clear, use * for a decimal point).

The phone will save and apply the changes.

The phone downloads the latest bootROM and firmware from the ShoreTel server in Paris and
in the process, reboots several times. When the phone displays the date and time, the
boot and upgrade process is complete.
To manually configure an operational phone from the keypad:
  1. With the phone on hook, press the MUTE key followed by 73887# (SETUP#).
  2. At the Password prompt, enter 1234 , or the password provided by your system administrator, followed by the # key.
  3. Enter the values listed in Table above when prompted. Press # to advance to the next settings or * to exit.
The phone downloads the latest bootROM and firmware from the ShoreTel server (if necessary) and in the process, reboots several times. When the phone displays the date and time, the boot and upgrade process is complete.
